I hardly ever do these things but when Anna from Much Love tagged me to find 7 green things in my room, I just had to. I think it was that element of a treasure hunt that appealed to me the most. So here are my 7 green things: Chasing Harry Winston with the green shoe on the cover, green Crayola, green cocktail ring that I wore to my formal, green ring that my friend brought back for me from France, green owl plush toy/keyring, ‘Oasis green’ nail polish from Sportsgirl (the OCD side of me hates that it’s not the same kind of green as everything else), and a green subsription card from Russh magazine.

I also thought I’d include some awards I’ve been tagged with recently. The first one was from Liana at Oh Dear It’s Liana and the second from Chloe over at Butterfly Cupcakes and Daffodils. Thank you both, you’re too lovely! These also came with one of those ‘7 things’ games, and seeing as I’m in the mood for these things I guess I’ll give it a go. The first one was to name 7 random facts about myself, and the second was to name 7 things I’m loving right now. And seeing as 7 things I’m loving also technically count as 7 facts… well, I’m being efficient. So here are 7 random things I’m loving right now:

1. Summer fruits. Pretty sure I ate a whole watermelon today. No joke.
2. Cousins by Vampire Weekend.
3. Not wearing nailpolish.
4. Finishing uni. 2 weeks until my graduation ceremony. Exciting!
5. The fact that summer officially begins tomorrow.
6. Wearing hats with everything.
7. Iced coffee.

So now I’m going to tag seven more lovely blogs. Yes, I’m awarding you all with two awards! And, if you want to play along, the option to pick any one of these ‘7 things’ tags to do (no pressure). I highly recommend the first one. I also think I’m meant to change the colour, so let’s change it to 7 blue things. Because green was a bit tricky.

funktional power up velvet blazer from nasty gal

frye 8R harness boot

what are my absolute essentials? hmmm that would be black ankle boots and blazers.
well, this whole new lifestyle i have adopted – saving for great “investment” pieces over buying hoards of inexpensive things – has allowed me to purchase these two bad boys.
of course i slip and still cannot pass on a good deal at work or at forever 21 (and shhhh…i bought the blazer and boots with % off discounts/gift cards), but i couldn’t be happier that these on their way to my home.

I think “I die” describes best how much I’m into Whyred’s spring collection. Everything from head to toe is just adorable. My favorite outfit is the one with the overknees.

Oh and no, I’m not dead, just buried by an avalanche of work….

Aleks & The Ramps –
Antique Limb

I always get the intro/guitar part stuck in my head. If I were to actually document my summer adventures in a film (pretty boring film, I’d say), and create a soundtrack to it, I definitely think that instrumental would be in the opening sequence. The film clip is a bit of a trip to watch, too.

Wore this today. The only new-ish thing is this vest. It’s vintage and I kind of want to wear it with everything. I went to the markets (didn’t buy much- only pain au chocalat, yumm), had sushi for lunch, and then saw New Moon (finally). My verdict: the movie was a whole lot of awkward. It was as if it couldn’t decide if it wanted to be a comedy, love story, or action movie and the attempt at combining all of those elements was just… awkward. Plus the acting was just… awkward. Yes, awkward is my word of the day. But that’s just my 2 cents. The main point of this whole story is that I saw it in Imax. Taylor Lautner’s abs. In Imax. Enough said. (Eww I feel gross just for writing that. He’s a child!)

Anyway, I should start getting ready for tonight. I’m going to a costume party. We’re meant to come as our favourite building/monument. Me and my friends are going as the Great Pyramids of Giza. Mainly because it was practical. I wanted to go as gingerbread house. But the logistics of that plan made it too difficult. Firstly, those gingerbread houses are expensive and secondly, how on earth am I supposed to wear that?

Hope you’re all enjoying your weekend!
